IPC: A BUSINESS SCHOOL LOCATED IN THE HEART OF WINE
IPC was created in 1974 by the Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Bordeaux Wine Trade. IPC Vins et Spiritueux provides students with the necessary technical and cultural expertise they need to best market wines and spirits. Future professionals are trained to present and sell products as well as to stimulate markets in all relative sectors: trade, production, brokerage, specialized distribution, wine shops... In keeping with industry players, the school tailors its programs to meet market needs.
Each graduating class has a prestigious sponsorship: Domaine de Chevalier, Chateau Cheval Blanc, Castel... The Class of 2014 is sponsored by Videlot a family owned company, a holding of Petrus-Duclot.
IPCs major programs, the Unit Sales Manager program GUCS and the brand new RECI degree, International Business Manager with a Wine & Web option, are complemented by short courses made available to professionals through continuing education. The IPC Vins et Spiritueux also has a strong and supportive alumni network comprised of 1,000 industry professionals both in France and abroad. This network contributes to the notoriety of the schools programs and lends students job placement assistance. BORDEAUX, A SOUND INVESTMENT
Bordeaux is known around the world for its terroir, the production and the sale of wine. The Aquitaine region in which Bordeaux is situated has an ever increasing appeal with a dynamic economy and a privileged quality of life. Its border and maritime location offers a favorable strategic position between Southern and Northern Europe, confirmed by the quality and continued development of its communications infrastructure. Attractive and dynamic demographically, this vitality is also found at the enterprise level where tertiary activities generate the majority of added value. Together – Bordeaux and its region form the ideal place for student life and the activity of diversified firms.
TESTIMONY
François Gillet
Graduate of IPC, Class of 1997 – Wine Négociant, Quien & Cie, Bordeaux
The Unit Sales Manager program was a clear and focused opportunity for me. IPC offers high quality training conducted by professional lecturers who are both motivated and experienced. The Bordeaux location of the campus contributes to the schools notoriety among professionals in the sector. Today employed by a family owned Bordeaux merchant, I welcome interns from IPC into the firm regularly. The student bodys diversity both nationally and internationally is particularly valuable to our activities. I have in fact never been disappointed with an intern and have hired one of our brightest upon mission completion. As I wished in turn to assist students during their training, I have since become a member of IPCs academic committee.
