[Hong Kong June 25, 2014]– Vinexpo Asia-Pacific, the region¡¯s leading wine and spirits exhibition dedicated to industry professionals, which was held for the sixth time in Hong Kong from May 27-29, broke all previous records in terms of exhibitors and trade visitors.As expected the 2014 expo, which for the first time occupied two full floors of Hong Kong¡¯s landmark Convention and Exhibition Centre - 50% more space than in 2012 - attracted some 16,778 Asian buyers [a 6.3% increase] and 1300 exhibitors [an 18% increase] on the previous show in 2012.With over 90,000 glasses of wine poured over the three days and visitors from 25 different nations, feedback from both visitors and exhibitors alike underscored the fact that Vinexpo Asia-Pacific is now the market leader in Asia, with Hong Kongasthe gateway to the vast China market and a strategic hub for the regional wine and spirits industry.New elements to the biennial Asian expo included a special spirits showcase ¡®Spiritual¡¯, which featured exhibiting spirits brands presented in an innovative bar area by professional mixologists and members of the International Bartenders Association (IBA),where over 1,800 cocktails were served over three days. In addition, a ¡®China Wine Forum¡¯ headlined by an expertpanel debating the future of the China wine markettook place, as well as ascreening of the award-winning wine documentary ¡®Red Obsession¡¯ and a master class on Chinese wine.Commenting on his first Vinexpo as the company¡¯s new CEO, Guillaume Deglise said: ¡°This market is more sophisticated than ever, you could feel it in the business secured as well as in the overall atmosphere of the exhibition. We are really satisfied with the organisation¡±.7,064 Hong Kong trade professionals, representing 42% of all visitors, who had been very carefully selected, also walked the aisles of the exhibition. Loyal to Vinexpo Asia-Pacific since 2006, the recognised wine educator Peter Kwong, who owns Talent State Asia liked the new features of the exhibition this year: ¡°I can see that the exhibition has made important new steps forward.
