The Signing Ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Organizing Partners of the 2016 Sustainable & Smart Tourism Forum – 2016 SSTF took place on July 19, 2016 at Insa Art Plaza, located in one the most popular tourist spots in Seoul.
The ceremony was attended by the representatives of the six local co-organizers of the 2016 SSTF: tourism consulting firm Millennium Destinations (www.millennium-destinations.com), the main organizer of the 2016 SSTF, Insa Art Plaza, the venue sponsor, Arirang Storytelling (www.arirangstorytelling.com), an organization promoting Korean culture and tourism through storytelling, Gastro Tour Seoul (www.gastrotourseoul.com), an inbound culinary tourism agency, i-Travel Master (http://itravelmasters.com/), a tourism & travel platform, and Prism Communications, a marketing and communications agency.
All co-organizers expressed their willingness to contribute actively to the success of the 2016 SSTF, and to bring their respective experiences and competences to produce an exciting and inspiring event, while promoting sustainable & smart tourism as a major trend.
The 2016 SSTF will take place on October 10 &11 2016 under the theme ¡°Co-creating Life Tourism experiences¡±, with the purpose to explore new horizons and opportunities for the travel, hospitality and tourism sectors. It will bring together Korean and foreign professionals from a variety of backgrounds in relation with those sectors. The World Association for Hospitality and Tourism Education and Training – AMFORHT (www.amforht.com), and the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (www.gstcouncil.com) have confirmed their support to the 2016 SSTF, and more sponsors and partners are expected to join in the near future. On the first day of the Forum, French President of AMFORHT, and CEO of tourism consulting firm François-Tourisme-Consultants – FTC, (www.francoistourismeconsultants.com), Mr. Philippe François, and GSTC CEO Randy Durband will talk during a roundtable focusing on certification and labels for sustainable & smart tourism.
Insa Art Plaza, a multistory building dedicated to art, culture and tourism, has been fully sponsored as the venue of the forum. During two days, the participants will be offered both a platform and a playground for gaining and sharing knowledge, skills and good practices around the world, in the fields of sustainable and smart tourism as well as smart cities.
During the ceremony, French founder of Millennium Destinations Catherine Germier-Hamel, who is also AMFORHT Country Delegate and FTC Commercial Delegate in South Korea, mentioned that she and her partners would like to introduce a new kind of event that intends to ¡°entertain, enlighten and engage its participants¡±.

The official launching of the 2016 STTF is planned on August 15, 2016 at Insa Art Plaza, on the occasion of the inaugural Arirang Storytelling concert of Ms. Seung Ah Kim, CEO of Arirang Storytelling.
